** Botetourt County Public Water Systems Being Brought Back on Line **

Boil Water Notice Issued for Greenfield and Tinkerview Systems
Fincastle, VA  Monday, July 2  1:30 PM

Botetourt County Public Works is in the process of bringing all public water systems back on line. Water service is expected to be fully restored to all systems by 10:00 PM tonight. Most of the county's public water systems are on emergency power. Water service is being restored gradually to prevent damage to the lines and avoid further outages.

Due to the extended outage period, the Virginia Department of Health has issued a temporary boil water notice for the Greenfield and Tinkerview Gardens systems. The duration of the notice is unknown. This impacts customers generally south of Greenfield along the US 220 corridor to the Exit 150 area and customers west, along the Catawba Road corridor. Customers on those systems are being notified via the County's Reverse 911 Citizen Notification System.

As some in the impacted area are still without power, bottled drinking water is available at Lord Botetourt High School in Daleville.
