Serving a warrant Friday afternoon from Roanoke County, deputies from the Botetourt County Sheriff's Office arrested Billy Joe Carter, 34, chief of the Buchanan Volunteer Fire Department, on a misdemeanor charge related.

According to the Botetourt County Sheriff's Office, a warrant in Roanoke County was taken out against Billy Joe Carter, after a telephone conversation. Deputies arrested Carter this past Friday on charges of making phone threats to another firefighter.
