Botetourt County reorganizes emergency services

Over the last 20 years Botetourt County has been one of the fastest growing areas in southwest Virginia. To help organize emergency services, Botetourt leaders hired Carr Boyd as the county's first Director of Emergency Services, back in March.


Botetourt County James River search called off, woman found

The Botetourt County Sheriff's Office tells WSLS that deputies, along with members of the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries, are searching for a missing person on the James River. The search is near the town of Buchanan.

VDOT's 511Virginia.org shows a tractor trailer crash is blocking all lanes of Interstate 81 northbound in Botetourt County, near the Buchanan exit. The traffic camera close to the accident scene shows the truck flipped on its side, lieing diagnolly.
