The Botetourt County Planning Commission meets tonight, January 10, 2011, at 6 p.m. at the Old General District Court Meeting Room in Fincastle to consider a Special Exception Permit request for an airport in the Buchanan Magisterial District and an auto body repair shop in Daleville.

Anthony W. Neal has asked for the SEP for a private airport on 69.548 acres near Buchanan. The property is located on Mount Joy Road (Route 625), south of its intersection with Park Vista Drive (State Route 1143) and identified on the Real Property Identification Maps of Botetourt County as Section 64, Parcel 7.

Additionally, Steven L. Simmons is asking to rezone a parcel at Exit 150 in Daleville from a Business (B-2) Use District to a Business (B-3) Use District, with possible proffered conditions, and four Special Exception Permits, with possible conditions. He wants to put an automobile painting and body shop along with auto and heavy truck repair in the facility formerly known as Botetourt Gymnastics.

This parcel consists of 6.11 acres and it is located at 452 Roanoke Road (U.S. Route 220) adjacent to northbound U.S. Route 220 and southbound Interstate 81, approximately 0.4 miles north of the Interstate 81 Exit 150 interchange. The property is identified on the Real Property Identification Maps of Botetourt County as Section 101, Parcel 64A.

The Planning Commission will recommend approval or denial and these items will also go before the Board of Supervisors at the January 25 meeting for a final hearing.
