Botetourt County, Va., deputies say a man was treated for multiple dog bites after stealing and crashing three cars, leading officers on a 2-mile foot chase and challenging them to "release the dog" when they caught up to him.

Michael C. Stewart has been charged with robbery, three counts of breaking and entering, grand larceny and resisting arrest. Additional charges are pending. Deputies in Botetourt County say a 25-year-old man led them on a chase Wednesday morning that ended up involving three homes, and three stolen and wrecked vehicles.
