Memorial Day crash may impact volunteer firefighter & rescue squads' recruiting

No charges have been filed against the volunteer firefighter involved in that Memorial Day crash involving a pickup truck. Botetourt County Commonwealth's Attorney Joel Branscom says he doesn't expect the investigation to be completed before next week.

All lanes of US 11, Lee Highway, off of exit 162 on I-81, are closed in Botetourt County. VDOT's reporting the lanes are closed because of a downed power line.

Route 11 closed near Buchanan

VDOT says all lanes of Route 11 are closed, about two miles South of Buchanan in Botetourt Co. A power line is down. A WSLS crew on the scene says they saw a smoking transformer.
