Civil case against a Botetourt County deputy moves forward
May 2, 2007

The civil case against a Botetourt County deputy is moving forward.

Mark and Cheryl Hunsberger filed a $10 million lawsuit against Deputy J.A. Wood claiming he entered their home without their permission and questioned their daughter without due process.

Through his attorney, Wood denied the allegations. In court documents, he says he entered the home because he believed there was a teen-drinking party going on and only after he repeatedly tried ringing the doorbell and knocking on the door.

A judge will hear the case in December.
