Sypniewski tied for ACC golf lead


COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Virginia Tech's women sit in second place after Day 2 of the ACC Track and Field Championships.

North Carolina leads the men's division and Miami has a small lead over the Hokies and third-place Virginia.

The Hokies women were led on Friday by pole vaulter Ashley Early, who won her event with a vault of 13 feet, 534 inches.

Clemson senior Adam Linkenauger, a Lord Botetourt High School, won the men's high jump for the fourth straight year.

Virginia's Yemi Ayeni won the discus with a throw of 181-10. Tech' Justin Clickett was third.

Virginia's Jan Foerster was third in the 3,000 steeplechase. . . .
