The ACC team also includes former Tech players Zabian Dowdell and Chris Tucker, who was added after North Carolina's Wes Miller pulled out of the game.
"Obviously you can't take your mind off it for long, but this basketball game will take people's mind off it for a few minutes, at least, and give them a chance to relax," said Tucker, who'll be a graduate assistant at Tech next season. "But it's hard not to think about it."
Gordon, the ACC defensive player of the year in 2006-07, went home to Jacksonville, Fla., last weekend. He spent much of Monday stuck in an airport, delayed by high winds. He didn't arrive back in Blacksburg until Monday around 5 p.m., long after Seung-Hui Cho's rampage had ended.
Tucker spent Monday at his off-campus apartment in Blacksburg. Later in the week, he went home to Botetourt County to be with his family.
"I can't say any words that describe how I feel about that situation [at Tech]," Tucker said. "It's crazy. Stupid." . . .
